Even with a score of 10 on the Mohs Scale of Hardness, diamonds are vulnerable to damage – especially over lifetimes of wear.
With expert hands and a thorough polish, we can remove years of residue and scratches. Though you should expect to lose roughly 0.1ct of weight in the refurbishing process - shaving your 1.5ct sparkler down to one of 1.4ct - your old stone will come out the other side looking good as new, ready to take on the world all over again. There are few gestures quite as romantic as proposing with a much-loved old gem.

Lenny approached us with two fundamentals: a jaw-dropping 1920s cocktail ring he'd inherited from his grandmother and big plans to woo his partner, Madeline.
After a bespoke consultation, our Design Team presented Lenny some hand-drawn blueprints to peruse and feed back on. He picked a design whose intricate milgrain beading offers understated vintage charm, a fan of marquise diamonds either side of the centrepiece a playful nod to the original ring's flamboyant Art Deco character.
De-setting the impressive 2.43ct octagon-cut emerald and salvaging six undamaged marquise diamonds from the original piece, our master craftsman Theo rehomed them in a spectacular new recycled rose gold mount. A new jewel with an old soul and minimal environmental impact.
Now married, Madeline has united her one-in-a-million engagement ring with a bespoke wedding band, set with the remaining marquise diamonds not claimed from the original cocktail ring in the first instance.
In our current state of climate emergency, it's more important than ever before to celebrate materials already above the ground. No matter how fairly traded or responsibly sourced, newly-mined materials expend further water, land, and energy. Global warming has reached crisis point and it is now vital that we slow the rate at which we’re using and abusing these natural resources.
