About Arabel

Arabel Lebrusan’s statement jewellery is a mix of delicate metal latticework, excellence of craftsmanship and ethics at its core.

Her extensive background in the design and manufacture of fashion jewellery and fine jewellery allows her to explore fresh interpretations of traditional techniques, like filigree, in contemporary ways, bringing this vintage look to the modern woman. The result is stunning wearable pieces: light, feminine and delicate; which are created with attention-to-detail craftsmanship using ethical materials.

Previously as Creative Director of Leblas jewellery, the first Ethical Jewellery Boutique in the famous Sloane street, London; and now under her own name, she is commercialising these already iconic pieces which are worn by the likes of Princess Letizia of Spain and Sienna and Savannah Miller.

Arabel is an award-winning Spanish-born designer and recipient of the Tanzanite Celebration of Life Jewellery Design Awards 2007, runner up for Student of the Year Award at the UK Jewellery Awards 2007 and shortlisted as "New Designer" in the year 2010 and 2011 at the same event. Her creative use of filigree work in jewellery objects has been featured at exhibitions with the Crafts Council and in other art institutions.

She holds a prestigious Masters in Jewellery Design from the acclaimed Central St. Martins School of Art and Design, and a Bachelors degree in Fine Art from the University of Madrid. She is also a trained gemmologist. Her background includes managing design and production for a fashion accessories company in the Philippines and Hong Kong and has travelled widely, gaining inspiration throughout the world.

After seeing the world of mass manufacture and consumption she was keen to create jewellery in a more intimate and comfortable environment for workers, but also in a way which revitalised the European heritage that is fast disappearing and bring unique traditional techniques to a new generation of customers. The choice of using Ethical and Fairtrade metals and stones has been a natural evolution to create beautiful stunning jewellery on the outside but also in the inside.

"I remember when I was a little girl I used to go into my mum’s jewellery box and play with an elaborate eagle necklace holding a gorgeous deep blue sapphire. It was then I fell in love with art and jewellery design. I love to create and design pieces that have intricate detailing, contemporary shapes, and made through ethical practices." Arabel
